Hotel Phønix is situated right in the centre of Vendsyssel s main town Hjørring, and this has been the case right since the 1st of May 1887. At that time it was named W. Kyppers Hotel and with its 3 stories and fine ornaments of the façade, it was absolutely the most beautiful building of the town. Later on it was named Hotel Bristol, for a period is was a temperance hotel, and during the 2nd World War the Germans occupied the hotel.
