At Ronæs Strand Camping, there has long been a focus on the environment, as all toilet buildings have had water-borne solar cells since 1998, which supply approx. 40% of the hot shower water and supplemented by wood pellets.
The host couple Henriette and Peter have long worked with the environment and sustainability. For example, their efforts with the waste sorting at the campsite are remarkable.
All waste openings are adapted to the type of waste, and the new national waste pictograms have been set up, which have also been translated into English. It makes it easy for guests to sort, and according to the host couple, it has actually become a small activity with the kids to sort their waste correctly.
At the same time, a rubber plate on each fraction means that the waste does not blow out again, or that animals do not clear it out on the site again.
Henriette and Peter now want to explore the possibilities of saving water resources by reusing shower water for toilet flushing after extensive cleaning.
The couple is already working to reduce the shower time and thus the amount of shower water using hours and information for the user.
Funen is called the cycling island because of the 1200 km of signposted cycle routes in the beautiful and versatile landscape. Visit the well-preserved market towns, the 123 castles and manor houses and be tempted by local food and sublime restaurants - all surrounded by a sea of 100 islands.
Odense is filled with beautiful parks, romantic gardens and recreational areas such as outdoor fitness playgrounds.
On Funen you get good ingredients, meat from happy animals, locally brewed beer and wine, characteristic cheeses and exquisite specialties that can be enjoyed on one of the culinary routes or on one of the cozy food markets.
In addition to Odense, which is Funen's largest city, you will find cozy towns such as Svendborg, Nyborg, Kerteminde, Bogense and Middelfart.
