Sustainable food is here to stay

Food is becoming all the more green and sustainable. This was the permeating message on the Food Fair BITE that was held last week in Bella Center in Copenhagen, where also a now ongoing food waste campaign was launched.

The Food Fair BITE Copenhagen offered the visitors a variety of food tastings all with a focus on elements like sustainability, social responsibility, food waste reduction and ecology. 160 exhibitors from all around the world gathered to offer tastings of bread, fish chocolate, ice cream, fruit bars and more as well as all kinds of drinks.

On the picture Dansk Tang offered visitors a taste of their selection of fresh seaweed.

The overall theme was a sustainable mindset and a responsibility for the world around us. At the event, a now ongoing food waste campaign was also launched, where the idea is to inform and inspire chefs and kitchen staff to join the fight against food waste.
